CAPE TOWN
Rescued 1 November 2023
Here is my story:
They called me #Magnum as I am huge. Sadly I have not had the best life. I was found by accident while my rescuer was working on a farm in Villiersdorp. My owner was not interested in helping me and at the time I was extremely emaciated with absolutely ZERO muscles living in a 1x1m room (if that counts as a room) knee deep in my own poop weighing only 40kg. But I am safe now and two months later I was healthy enough to go for my sterilization and xrays of my hips. I weighed in at 58kg which is fantastic and was able to be sterilized and xrayed, sadly my xrays showed I have double Hip Dysplasia which means I cannot pick up too much weight as it will get hard for my hips to cope. My Hip Dysplasia is because I was not granted a proper diet while growing up and so my pelvis is under developed. I am on joint supplements and Royal Canin Giant Breed to make sure I get the best nutrition to maintain my muscle tone and bone density.
